Explore Town of St. George’s
Once Bermuda’s capital city, St. George’s was founded in 1609 and is now a UNESCO world heritage site filled with charming colonial architecture and ambling labyrinth alleyways. To get there, take the public bus from the City of Hamilton and head east. During your bus trip you will pass beautiful bays and charming island cottages until you reach Bermuda’s historic town filled with 17th century National Trust properties. Once in St. George’s don’t miss St. Peter’s Church in addition to King’s Square complete with historic Town Hall. Travelers searching for authentic Bermudiana why not stop by the Bermuda Perfumery for handmade island scents; the Book Cellar for great historical and cultural books about the island; and lastly the English Sports shop for a pair of Bermuda shorts in all colours of the rainbow!

Royal Naval Dockyard
Once home to the British Navy, the Royal Naval Dockyard is now one of Bermuda’s largest tourist attractions. To get there, walk five minutes to the public ferry dock in Hamilton and take the direct Fast Ferry west, a cruise that takes about 30 minutes. For a glimpse into Bermuda’s maritime past, head to the Maritime Museum, which displays its collections and exhibits in former munitions warehouses. Walk the grounds to learn about Bermuda’s rich maritime traditions, including the fully restored Commissioner’s House showcasing exhibits on the island’s social and military history, plus a stunning mural depicting 400 years of life in Bermuda.
