A graduate of Goldsmith’s School of Art, Julian Opie makes the concerted decision to abstract his walking figures into recognisable static forms that could be anyone of us, walking down the street – caught in a quick picture, with our devices in hand, our ears plugged with music or blogs, indifferent to our reality. His portfolio – like many others in the collection- makes satirical commentary on our collective contemporary behavior.
