Art at the “Pink Palace”
Throughout is history, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club has been at the centre of Island life. Now, after extensive renovations, it is poised more than ever to continue as a centre of excellence. Nothing reflects better that dedication to excellence than the Princess Art Collection. Carefully assembled, with some of the top names in the world of Pop and Modern Art, the Collection is displayed throughout the Hotel for guests to enjoy.
On entering the lobby, guests will find “Monkey Blue” by Jeff Koons hung above the fireplace along with works by Banksy, Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst. Of particular note here is “Divina Proportione” by Chinese dissident and artist Ai Wei Wei.
A selection of our Art Collection:
Crown & Anchor Bar is almost an art gallery unto itself with works by Julian Opie, Kate Brinkworth, Invader and other well known names in the art world. The same may be said for Marcus’ Restaurant with works by famous British artist Bridget Riley, Zeus, Nelson Mandela and Warhol.
“At This Time, Companion Series” by KAWS stands over the terrace. Over 18 feet tall, it is really can’t be missed! Nearby is “Pumpkin” by Yayoi Kusama, another piece remarkable not just for its size, but its attention to detail.
Elsewhere, walls are hung with Robert Rauschenberg, Mr. Brainwash and Wang Guangyi, among many others. Truly, no matter what corner guests turn they are sure to encounter fascinating artwork that reflects the high standards for which the Hotel is known.
